Operational Support
NetSiM
NetSiM© is a Steady-State and Transient multiphase simulator for design and operational support.
Pressure and Temperature implicitly solved together to provide a very numerically robust solution with minimum volume error.
Unique Pig by-pass model enables it to model liquid volume correctly which is critical for topsides design.
NetSiM© supports high degree of parallel processing which enables it to solve complex multiphase flow assurance problems at much higher speed and accuracy.
Flexibility to carry our Life of Field Simulations.
Tailor Made Tools
DSL has developed tailor made tools to model specific Flow Assurance / Operational requirements.
KPI : Key Performance Indicator
Custom-built by DSL for specific needs of an operating plant or production field. It performs post-mortem analysis to evaluate if procedures as laid out in Site Operating Procedures (SOP) were followed. It identifies if they were some excursions beyond the safe operating envelope, in-spite of following the procedures.
Cooldown Simulator
Provides gas / oil / water / mixture cooldown curves for a given system. This is useful for design and operation with an aim to determine the ‘No touch time’. A two-dimensional cooldown simulation can also be simulated.
Packing / De-packing Simulator
To simulate fast transients in multiphase / single phase system with minimum volume error and 2 heat equations for gas & liquid separately.
Adaptive Slug Controller
Adaptive Slug controller (ASC) is a patented (patent awarded in 2023) software tool which is installed on the DCS of an operating upstream facility. It continuously optimizes the Oil & Gas upstream production facility to provide maximum throughput while maintaining stability of the system.
Stabilizes terrain slugging.
Stabilizes facility in all operational slugging scenarios (ramp-up, start-up etc.).
Increases production.
Enhances integrity by reducing risk to wells/flowline.
Continuously adapts to unexpected facility transient events/upsets.
No operator intervention required.
Reduces slug volume during pigging operation.
The system (uncontrolled case – riser top choke 100% open) when pigged causes high surge volumes in the downstream slug-catcher causing it to reach high-high level values, which would have tripped the production facility. This scenario when simulated with the proposed invention, prevents high surge volumes, as it slows down the pig when it arrives. The liquid surge ahead of the pig is detected by the gas-fraction meter, causing the riser top choke to close and slow down the pig, causing lower peak surge volumes in the slug-catcher.

About Us
Dynamic Simulation Limited (DSL) is a specialist engineering consultancy focusing on the upstream oil and gas industry. We were established in March 2010 in London. From 2012 onwards we started focusing on Software Development and then on Technology Development from 2014 onwards. DSL consultants are experts in leading-edge technology with strong analytical capability in transient multiphase flow simulation, production chemistry/thermodynamics and topsides process dynamics. Our consultants have been engaged in some of the world’s largest, deepest, and most technically challenging projects within the industry.
Our Goal
Our goal is to provide world class engineering services and support and develop cutting edge technological tools for engineering applications.

Founder
Abhinav Goel has more than 23 years of experience in oil and gas and chemical industry. His career started with downstream fertilizer / refinery operation / design and moved on to the upstream sector subsequently. His rich gamut of experience from consultancy / design companies to operating ones, brings an overall perspective to best engineering practices / guidelines in the overall life cycle of the project. Mr. Goel has been working in the complex field of flow assurance for the last 10 years, using the state of the art tools, while generating his own software codes which are extensively used for design / operational support. Mr. Goel graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from IIT Roorkee, India in 1993.
